Nottingham Contemporary is one of the largest contemporary art galleries in the UK, occupying a striking purpose-built home on Weekday Cross in the Lace Market. Since opening in 2009 it has staged changing exhibitions of international and emerging artists, alongside a busy public programme of talks, events, learning activities, and a cafe bar. Entry to the galleries is free, which has made it a genuinely public space at the heart of the city's cultural life.
