Green's Windmill & Science Centre

A restored working windmill with a free hands-on science centre celebrating mathematician George Green.

Green's Windmill is a restored 19th-century tower mill, once owned by self-taught mathematician and physicist George Green, that grinds its own flour. The attached science centre offers free hands-on experiments on electricity, magnetism and light that are ideal for young children, alongside a mill shop and community garden. Admission is free, making it a great budget family outing in Sneinton. Note: major repairs mean the windmill building itself is closed until around November 2026, but the science centre, shop and garden remain open Wednesday to Sunday.
