The county's largest natural history museum, set inside a spectacular Elizabethan mansion surrounded by a free-roaming deer park.
Housed in the grand Elizabethan Wollaton Hall since 1926, this is the largest dedicated natural history museum in Nottinghamshire, with around 750,000 specimens spanning fossils, minerals, insects, birds and the much-loved George the Gorilla. The hall also doubled as Wayne Manor in The Dark Knight Rises, and the surrounding deer park is free to roam. Brilliant for families and a good rainy-or-shine day; the hall and gardens are free to enter though some exhibitions and parking are paid.
